Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME universal extension is the only one intended for personal websites only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other labels people are famous by. Initially, just third-level registrations were allowed, so if you planned to obtain john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already acquired third-level names remained online.

Through our firm, you can order your .NAME domain for an interval between one and ten years. You will have the chance to edit the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our company if you acquire its EPP transfer key from the current registration service provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been finished. There are no special requirements on who can purchase a dot NAME domain, but in order to keep the concept behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.
